A Bit About Us

It started with me throwing out bread crumbs to some sparrows

Then I bought a bag of bird seed and I became hooked - I became a "birder." Living in a new community and not knowing many people, I was adopted by the birds as their new best friend. What started out as a simple amusement is now a fulfilling hobby and also an education in nature. What surprises me is I never noticed birds before. I'm amazed and also disappointed it has taken me this long to learn who all is out there in our backyards and the powerful impression they have on our environment. The more I learn, the more I change.

Here at Birds of Cambria, I hope you enjoy meeting the many varieties of birds I have discovered simply by opening my eyes. My feathered friends have encouraged me to learn photography and sometimes they are even willing to pose for me so I can learn more about my camera.
